Emory Executive Education’s LGBTQ Executive Leaders Forum is designed to transform LGBTQ and ally leaders in their approach to the unique challenges they face in today’s business environment. You will walk away ready to:

  • Uncover the power of design thinking as a methodology to better define challenges and ideate solutions for the real-world problems faced by the LGBTQ population in business environments
  • Understand how LGBTQ individuals can expand their influence as advocates within an organization
  • Explore ways to hire, retain, and promote LGBTQ employees and additional insights into the legal protections and exposures for the LGBTQ professionals

What you will learn

  • Through improv exercises and techniques designed for stage performance, develop the presence and storytelling capabilities to engage your audience in hearing new perspectives

  • Uncover communication plans, techniques, and strategies providing you with multiple vehicles and options for broadcasting your messages.

  • Build your knowledge of the current state of the legal and regulatory protections afforded to LGBTQ individuals, and understand how your actions can bring about meaningful expansion of these protections.

Instructor Spotlight

  • Karen Sedatole is a Goizueta Advisory Board Term Professor of Accounting at Emory University's Goizueta Business School. She completed her PhD in business administration at the University of Michigan in 2000. Prior to joining the Emory faculty, Sedatole was the Russell E. Palmer Endowed Professor of Accounting at Michigan State University. Her research focuses on the design and effectiveness of performance measurement and reward systems, the role of forecasting and budgetary systems within organizations, and control in interorganizational collaborations.
